Bloxom Community Church of the Nazarene had been considered inactive for quite a while until December 2015  when Pastor Mary Jimenez was called to the Eastern Shore of Virginia to re-start the church and reach out to the community of the Eastern Shore. In August 2021 Candy Barnes was issued a local ministers license and has become a blessing to our church family. Pastor Mary moved across the state to be with her mother and joins for church via zoom on  Sunday eve. The church still meets in person for services. Candy Barnes preaches on most Sundays and is well loved by all. Candy Barnes is available in the event assistance is needed in the community. Pastor Mary and the church are provided with oversight and support by the District Advisory Board of the Virginia Nazarene District and Dr J. Philip Fuller.
